My silliest travel story
While visiting France with my girlfriend, we hopped on a tram to explore the city. It was pretty crowded, so when the doors opened, I instinctively stepped on and squeezed my way through the packed carriage to find a spot. Just as I turned around to check she was behind me, the doors slid shut—with her still standing on the platform!
We locked eyes through the glass, both stunned. I felt like the worst boyfriend ever.
Luckily, I got off at the next stop and waited. A few minutes later, the next tram rolled in—with her waving from inside. We reunited on the platform, laughing it off, though for a brief moment, it definitely felt like the opening scene of a romantic disaster movie.

My favourite reason to teach abroad: To have the opportunity to teach children of different cultural backgrounds. This type of teaching gives you a chance to share with the children your experiences but also learn so much from the children as well!

My silliest travel story:
I visited my sister in Taiwan, and on our day off, we decided to ride her scooter in search of a beautiful hike. The weather was perfect—sunny and warm—as we cruised along, enjoying the ride in our summer dresses. But as we started climbing the mountains, the weather changed dramatically. A fierce wind howled down the valley, and suddenly, hail came pouring down, followed by a torrential downpour!
We quickly pulled over to throw on our waterproof ponchos, but it was too late. We were already soaked, with our dresses clinging to us and hair dripping. When we finally made it back home, we couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous we looked, drenched and disheveled from a perfect day that turned into an unforgettable adventure.

My favourite reason to teach abroad: The opportunity to travel and experience different cultures in a truly immersive way! It is so different from being a tourist in a country.
